These photos were taken in Bristol, about 20m from an enormous allotment that my friends tend. Their lives are entirely simplified by this - they spend less, eat organic, fresh, seasonal food all year around and have a huge source of joy from their labour. It's a fantastic lifesyle of which I am more than a little envious.
Not to mention the zucchini flowers - seriously hard to find and cost the earth - I think I was holding about £7 woth of those babies. We had them gently sauteed in olive oil with their zucchinis, lemon zest and a squeeze of lemon juice. Tasty tasty.
